Greg Gorman, born in Kansas City in 1949, is an acclaimed photographer known for his authentic and expressive portraits. Throughout his five-decade career, Gorman has captured the essence of cultural icons such as David Bowie, Sophia Loren and Elton John, creating images that reveal the individuality of his subjects while leaving some questions unanswered. Transitioning seamlessly from analogue to digital photography, Gorman blends timeless techniques with modern innovation. His work has been exhibited worldwide and he has published 13 photography books, including the retrospective “It’s Not About Me”. Recognised with prestigious awards such as the Lucie Award for Portraiture and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Professional Photographers of America, Gorman continues to inspire through his art. Beyond photography, he is a dedicated mentor and teacher, sharing his expertise through workshops and public lectures, redefining portraiture with his collaborative and insightful approach.
