Struan Teague (b 1991) currently lives and works in London. He uses a mixture of oil, acrylics, spray-paints and pencil in his paintings.
Via automated painting technique Teague designs a visual language of lines and drops. The compositions of his paintings are moved out of the centre. In his paintings Struan Teague achieves a balance between compositional structure and emotional painting. He works fast and intuitively, he starts with a few fast sketches and develops his paintings from these.
Influences reminding of Miró and Twombly connect to the tradition of modernism, Teague manages a balancing act into the present by the use of contemporary techniques and materials.
