Terry O‘Neill (1938 - 2019) is one of the most celebrated and widely collected British photographers of all time. Known for his intimate portraits of celebrities, politicians, and royals, he helped capture London‘s Swinging Sixties through his work with stars from The Beatles to Elizabeth Taylor. In later years, he would continue to capture compelling portraits of world figures, including Brigitte Bardot and Mick Jagger. O‘Neill‘s unique style, which was closer to reportage or street photography than formal portraiture, is instantly recognizable by his subjects‘ candid, relaxed moods and unusual settings that show their spontaneous, human side. His works have been exhibited, among others, at the National Portrait Gallery in London and the San Francisco Art Exchange. They are held widely in private and public collections around the world.
